From the Tivolihomepage a little bit more information:

Australia has been gripped with stories of devastation from the Victorian fires and Queensland floods. In response to these tragedies, Secret Service has coordinated the inspirational event Fire And Flood on behalf of Brisbane's music community.

Powderfinger have suspended the writing of their new album to join friends The Grates, Robert Forster, The John Steel Singers, The Boat People and Dan Parsons on stage at The Tivoli on Fri 6 Marh. Fire and Flood is set to show support, build morale and raise funds for the affected communities. Profits raised will be donated evenly across The Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal and The Queensland Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal.

As Australia comes to terms with the damage wreaked and the staggering statistics, many are digging deep and giving.

"I feel so strongly for the lives lost, the lives forever changed and truly believe that every little bit helps," says Patience Hodgson of The Grates, "together we can do more than just a little bit, Fire and Flood is a chance to do a lot. Let's be grateful for the life we lead and raise money for those who are grateful for their lives."

The burnt soil in the south and the waterlogged fields in the north are revealed, and so too is the true spirit of Australians, rallying together to help the homes and communities.

"The generosity of the public all over the country has been incredible. I suppose when faced with situations like this you do whatever you can," comments Powderfinger's Bernard Fanning. "We can play rock and roll and be mildly entertaining so we thought people might be up for further donations in the form of a ticket to a show."

Fire And Flood: All Proceeds raised will be donated to The Red Cross Victorian Bush Fire Appeal and The Queensland Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal.
