Like most great song-writers,he has a formula that he can`t escape from,or doesn`t even realise he`s tied into.Ditto Bob Dylan, Van Morrison,Ray Davies,Lou Reed, etc. It`s a constant and subtle re-arrangement of a mosaic which satisfies everyone--writer and listener.I`m a sucker for these sun-washed chords.

Early Leonard Cohen comes to mind, also. These are artists who would probably consider themselves lyricists or poets as much or more than song writers. You've put Grant in exalted company.

His and Robert`s words are more than just ear-candy.They definitely paint pictures and conjure atmospheres .Just like short stories, very difficult to get right.
