Has anyone noticed the acronymical resemblance between Grant's band Far Out Corporation (FOC) and the note featured in Carl Reiner's "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" film from 1982?

In this brilliant and very funny film Steve Martin finds a note reading FOC ("Friends of Carlotta"). I wonder if there's a hidden reference here?

The only thing I have found when googling for further information is an Austrian indie rock band from Vienna called "Friends of Carlotta". But this
has probably nothing to do with this.
