It's not as catchy or as pop-friendly (or as good, IMO) as "That Way". A bit too jagged for a "greatest hits" compilation. | ||

i think this is one of my favorite go-betweens songs ever. i disagree that it isn't catchy, i think it's catchy as hell, but lindy's drumming gives it a slightly bizarre twist. i think this song has become sadly overlooked, as they never include it in live sets and it hasn't made it on any comps (maybe it was on metal and shells, i'll have to check). that way is a wonderful song, but for me its just a wee bit pedestrian when compared to unkind & unwise. my 2 cents... | ||

I actually like both songs very much. That Way has a very catchy guitar lick in it and is even more fun to play it. The lyrics are quite bizarre. Unkind and Unwise was an early favorite when I discovered the band and has been a charmer ever since. | ||

This song has always been one of my favourites. I love the drumming and the unusual rhythm of the song. And the lyrics evoke strong images of coastal North Queensland that I am sure were etched in Grant's memory. The note on the end of the lyrics sheet captures part of the essence of the song: Repeat till cicadas join in the fun. |
