Heard 'In your Bright Ray' on the radio in 1997 and thought it was a very euphoric song (for want of a better description). It's funny peculiar then when one learns about him (Grant) being depressed a lot of the time 'cause to me that song seems like the flip side of depression: as if he couldn't come to terms the dark side of his personality or maybe he was on an upper and just in a good mood the day he wrote it, who knows? Well a lot of people are like the former, I suppose - let's pretend everything is fantastic and stay away from anything bordering on negative or critical. Don't forget to 'Smile now!' unless you're in one of your foul moods - that kind of thing. There's a book on this stuff called 'Smile or die' which I've yet to read but it sounds like a good antidote to the 'positive' set and there's been plenty of rubbish written by them. Whatever, I thought 'In your bright ray' would have made a better single than 'Comet Star' which was an Aussie only release in any event. And so you asked the lyric and here it is: In your bright ray Wind in the wires and you don't know where it's coming from x2 Be my, be my, be my silver star Wind in the wires and you don't know where it's coming from In your bright ray, caught in your light ray, spinning sideways Wind in the wires and you don't know where it's coming from Crimson flame and you don't know where it's coming from Be my, be my, be my silver star. Wind in the wires and you don't know where it's coming from In your bright ray, caught in your light ray, spinning sideways. |
