Hi, I'm trying to find a recording of 121 by The Go-Betweens for a friend of my who had it recorded off a TV performance years ago but I have only been able to trace it on an album entitled Calling From a Country Phone by Robert Forseter. Does anybody know if it exists by the band anywhere and if so how can I get a copy? Any help much appreciated! Thanks Lucy | ||

Did the Go-Betweens ever play that song? It's not on the Botany St. sessions, to the best of my knowledge. Maybe your friend saw RF & GM play it as a duo performance? | ||

It's been a live staple since the Go-Bs got back together. Great song. Always sounds good. Oh. I just realised my tenses are all wrong. Like I just remembered again. Fuck. I think there's also a demo version by Robert and his wife's band Baby You Know linked to from the website. | ||

Thanks Nic and Kurt, I think I need to get more info on the concert and see if that leads us anywhere! If not then it's back to Amazon & get the RF album and leave it at that which would be a shame. I'll come back to here when I've more info and see what else we can come up with! | ||

I've just been looking at setlists for the 2005 tour and they played 121 in Germany a couple of times ..... do you think this should give me more hope? Does it give anybody any more idea of where I can track it down, on cd, dvd, video or to download.... Fingers crossed PS - Nic, my friend didn't know the sad news until this song came up whilst we were sat chatting on the beach in Mallorca - makes my mission more important really. |
