Was this about Robert chasing his wife Karin ?? tombstones , cobblestones - not an austrialian city more German me thinks -I saw them on the last tour and this song was one of the high lights of the set for me. |

Not forgetting the line "Her daddy's beer, down by the river's edge". A reference to the fact that Karin's father is the owner of a bavarian brewery. Robert has gone on record saying that he's realized every Australian male's dream by marrying the heiress to a brewery! Robert doesn't strike me as the beer drinking type however. |

Funny you mention that, because I've read more than one interview that makes a reference to Robert drinking non-alcoholic beer. Jeff |

And what's the point of non-alcoholic beer anyhow? Might as well just drink Bud or Coors or some other American piss-water beer, since it's scientifically impossible to actually get drunk off the stuff. |

I get the impression he is now a teetotaller. I seem also to recall that around Liberty Belle time, or perhaps a bit later, he was advocating staying up late, getting completely drunk, and writing lyrics. But who knows. Maybe the results made him a teetotaller. |

Perhaps a little too much beer consumed in that German farmhouse? |

I'm desperately trying to find copy of 121 by the band (as opposed to the Robert Forster version on his Calling from a Country Phone album) I know they included it in their sets in Germany on tour last year, doesn't anybody know where I can find it? I don't mind what format; cd, dvd, download, vhs.....if you can help please let me know, Thanks |
